Mon Oct 14 03:22:14 UTC 2024: ## MVA Shifts Strategy, Accuses Ruling Mahayuti Government of Corruption and Betrayal Ahead of Maharashtra Elections

**Mumbai:** The Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, comprising the Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress, has shifted its stance on declaring a Chief Ministerial candidate ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. While previously demanding the Mahayuti (BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP) to announce their CM face first, MVA leader Uddhav Thackeray now says they will announce their candidate after the election. This shift comes following the recent Haryana assembly election results and signals a change in strategy for the MVA.

During a joint press conference on Sunday, Thackeray emphasized that there is no internal dispute within the MVA regarding the CM post and that they will unanimously select their candidate after the polls. The MVA also released a booklet titled “Gaddarancha Panchanama” (Panchanama of Traitors), accusing the Mahayuti government of corruption and mismanagement during its two-and-a-half-year tenure.

The MVA leaders criticized the ruling government for failing to address key issues like unemployment, public safety, and the welfare of farmers. Thackeray specifically targeted the Mahayuti government for its alleged inaction in the case of Baba Siddiqui’s killing, stating that the government is focused on monitoring the opposition while neglecting the safety of citizens.

NCP chief Sharad Pawar, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the lack of implementation of government decisions and the overall disappointment with the Mahayuti government’s performance. Congress State President Nana Patole accused the ruling party of favoring Gujarat over Maharashtra and slammed the government’s handling of the Shivaji statue incident in Malvan. He also demanded the removal of DGP Rashmi Shukla, accusing her of political bias and interference in the electoral process.

The MVA’s aggressive campaign against the Mahayuti government, coupled with the recent shift in strategy on the CM face, indicates their determination to unseat the ruling coalition in the upcoming elections. The alliance has accused the government of betraying the people of Maharashtra and expressed concerns about potential religious riots orchestrated by the ruling parties to secure victory.

The upcoming elections are expected to be closely contested, with both sides vying for power in Maharashtra. The MVA’s aggressive campaign and its focus on highlighting the alleged failures of the current government could be a crucial factor in determining the outcome of the elections.
