Sun Oct 13 21:05:50 UTC 2024: ## Fourth Accused Identified in NCP Leader Baba Siddique’s Murder Case

**Mumbai, October 13, 2024:** The Mumbai Police have identified a fourth accused, Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar, in the murder case of NCP leader Baba Siddique. Akhtar is believed to have orchestrated the shooting from outside, providing information about Siddique’s location and logistical support, including arranging rental rooms.

Siddique, a three-time MLA from Bandra West, was shot dead outside his son’s office last night. Two of the three shooters, Gurmel Singh and Dharmaraj, have been arrested, while the third, Shivkumar, remains at large.

Akhtar was arrested by the Jalandhar Rural Police in 2022 for organized crime, murder, and robbery. He was released from Patiala Jail on June 7, 2024, after reportedly connecting with the Lawrence gang while incarcerated.

The Mumbai Crime Branch has recovered two pistols and 28 rounds from the accused. Witnesses state that the shooters initially attempted to use pepper spray, but Shivkumar eventually fired directly at Siddique. Despite the presence of three constables, they were unable to prevent the shooting.

The Mumbai Police are investigating all possible angles, including potential connections to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, Arms Act, and Maharashtra Police Act.
