**Hyderabad, October 10, 2023:** The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Telangana, warning of thunderstorms with lightning across the state on Monday. Thirteen districts are on high alert, including Adilabad, Komaram Bheem, Nirmal, Nizamabad, and Mancherial in the north; Jayshankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and Khammam in the east; and Narayanpet, Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, and Jogulamba Gadwal in the south.
Hyderabad is expected to experience intermittent light showers until October 16.
Meanwhile, a fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over the central parts of the south Bay of Bengal, potentially bringing heavy to very heavy rain to parts of south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema over the next three days. This development follows a cyclonic circulation over the southeast Bay of Bengal that has moved west-northwestwards.
The IMD advises residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions during this period of heightened weather activity.
