Mon Oct 14 05:21:20 UTC 2024: ## Ola Cabs Faces Regulatory Scrutiny and Customer Backlash

**New Delhi:** Ola Cabs, the popular ride-hailing app, is facing mounting pressure from both regulators and customers. The company, which recently went public, has seen its stock price plummet and has been inundated with complaints about poor service.

The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has ordered Ola to allow customers to choose between a bank account transfer or a coupon for refunds on complaints. This comes after the CCPA received over 2,000 complaints related to Ola’s refund policy, which currently only offers coupons.

The CCPA has also directed Ola to provide customers with invoices for all bookings, as the company currently does not offer this option. These directives come amidst widespread complaints about overcharging and refund issues, which make up the majority of complaints received by the National Consumer Helpline this year.

Ola’s CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, has been caught in the middle of this controversy, engaging in a heated social media debate with comedian Kunal Kamra over the company’s practices.

The CCPA’s intervention marks a significant escalation in the regulatory scrutiny of Ola, which is now facing a growing public backlash over its service and customer relations.
