**New Delhi:** The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar in connection with the murder of former Maharashtra Minister, Baba Siddique. The NIA has compared Bishnoi’s gang to Dawood Ibrahim’s D-Company, highlighting its extensive network and criminal activities.
Bishnoi’s gang, responsible for Siddique’s murder, operates in 11 states across India with approximately 700 trained shooters. The NIA stated that the group started small but has expanded significantly, gaining a dominant position in North India. Goldy Brar, a wanted criminal in Canada and India, leads the gang.
According to the chargesheet, around 300 of the 700 gang members hail from Punjab. The group recruits members through social media platforms and extorts money through intimidation. They have allegedly used hawala channels to launder millions of rupees obtained through illegal activities.
The gang’s operations extend across Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and other states. The NIA further revealed that Khalistani terrorist, Harvinder Singh Rinda, utilizes Bishnoi’s gang for his criminal activities in Punjab.
