**Lisbon, Portugal:** Portugal’s national team manager, Roberto Martinez, has showered praise on 21-year-old central defender Renato Veiga following his impressive debut performance.

Veiga, playing against a strong Polish side featuring the legendary Robert Lewandowski, showcased maturity beyond his years, according to Martinez. “I’m very satisfied because he didn’t play like a young player, he showed incredible maturity,” said the Spanish coach. “He had a good connection with Rúben Dias and Nuno Mendes, and it was demanding to play against Poland and Lewandowski. He was focused and aggressive, winning all his duels and being very strong in the air.”

Martinez highlighted Veiga’s impressive debut, calling it “superlative” considering the level of difficulty.
