Thu Oct 10 20:23:19 UTC 2024: ## Arsenal Star Trossard Returns to Belgian Squad, Hopes to Replicate Club Form

**BRUSSELS** – Belgian attacker Leandro Trossard has expressed his ambition to carry his stellar club form with Arsenal into the national team, after rejoining the squad for the upcoming Nations League matches against Italy and France.

Trossard is expected to fill the crucial midfield role vacated by the injured Kevin De Bruyne for the Group A2 matches in Rome on Thursday and against France at home on Monday. While his exact position remains to be confirmed by coach Domenico Tedesco, Trossard is confident in his abilities to contribute effectively.

“It’s always nice to be played in your best position,” Trossard said during a press conference on Tuesday. “At the European Championship, for example, I had to fill many roles.”

The 29-year-old, who prefers playing on the left side of the attack, is likely to feature centrally in the absence of De Bruyne. Trossard’s recent success at Arsenal as a second attacker alongside Kai Havertz, following an injury to captain Martin Odegaard, has solidified his confidence.

“I feel good, yes,” Trossard affirmed. “Is this my best form ever? I dare not say, but I think I’m performing quite consistently at Arsenal.”

Trossard’s return to the national team comes after a surprise omission for last month’s Nations League games against Israel and France. Coach Tedesco had requested his absence to give other players experience.

“He said he knew my qualities, wanted to try out new guys and give them some experience,” Trossard explained. “The Nations League offers the opportunity for that. I agreed to that. It was a good agreement.”

Belgian fans will be hoping that Trossard can replicate his Arsenal form and contribute significantly to the national team’s success in the upcoming Nations League matches.
