**Shirdi, Maharashtra:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for a new integrated terminal building at Shirdi Airport on Wednesday via video conferencing. The project, estimated to cost ₹645 crores, is expected to significantly enhance the airport’s capacity and bolster tourism in the region.

The new terminal is expected to provide improved facilities for devotees visiting the revered Sai Baba temple in Shirdi, attracting an even larger number of pilgrims and boosting the local economy. The airport will also offer cargo services, benefiting farmers in the surrounding areas.

Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of the project, stating that it will not only benefit Shirdi and its surrounding areas, but also contribute to the development of Maharashtra as a whole.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, participating through a video conference, lauded the central government’s continued support for the state’s development, highlighting the global significance of Shirdi due to its connection to Sri Sai Baba.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, also present via video conference, expressed confidence that the new integrated terminal building would put Shirdi on the world map, making it one of India’s busiest airports in the coming years.

Local officials, including Revenue Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, MLA Ashutosh Kale, and Shirdi Airport Director Gaurav Upshyam, were present at the Shirdi Airport to witness the foundation laying ceremony.
