Fri Oct 11 18:07:07 UTC 2024: ## Indian Cricket Star Mohammed Siraj Takes Charge as Deputy Superintendent of Police

**HYDERABAD, INDIA – October 11, 2024** – Mohammed Siraj, celebrated Indian pacer and a key member of India’s triumphant ICC T-20 World Cup 2024 team, has officially taken on the role of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Telangana.

Siraj reported to Jitender, the state’s Director General of Police, on Friday. The appointment comes after Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced in July that the government would offer a government job and a plot of land to Siraj in recognition of his contribution to the national team’s victory.

The state government has been proactive in rewarding sportspersons, with the cabinet resolving to offer Group-1 posts of DSP cadre to both Siraj and fellow champion boxer Nikhat Zareen in August. Siraj was also awarded a 600 sq yard plot of land in Jubilee Hills earlier this month.

Siraj follows in the footsteps of Zareen, who joined the Telangana state police as DSP in September.
