Singh, who delivered 14 newspapers daily to Tata’s residence, recounted his interactions with the business magnate, highlighting Tata’s warmth and generosity.
Singh fondly recalled Tata’s daily greeting, often inquiring about Singh and his family. “He would always greet me with a smile and a wave. It’s something I’ll never forget,” Singh said in an interview with a news agency.
Singh further revealed a deeply personal act of kindness by Tata. When Singh’s relative was diagnosed with cancer and lacked the resources for proper treatment, Tata sent a handwritten letter to the Tata Memorial Centre along with a donation of ₹5 lakh. “He was a savior for the poor,” Singh said.
