A political storm has erupted in Delhi after the sealing of the Chief Minister’s residence and the removal of belongings belonging to newly-elected CM Atishi.

The BJP has questioned the need for Atishi to occupy the CM residence, arguing that she has not been officially allotted the bungalow. Meanwhile, Atishi was seen working amidst her packed belongings.

The Lt. Governor’s office issued a statement explaining that Atishi had not been formally allocated the government bungalow. However, AAP countered by claiming that the BJP is trying to allocate the bungalow to one of their leaders.

The dispute arose after the Delhi Development Authority sealed the CM’s residence on Wednesday, citing handover procedures. This sparked a heated response from AAP.

Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal vacated the bungalow after resigning. The bungalow was then intended for the newly-elected CM Atishi, but BJP claims she hasn’t been officially assigned it. This has fueled a political showdown between the two parties.

BJP leader Virender Sachdeva accused AAP of hiding secrets in the CM residence, while also stating that the party’s “sins” have finally caught up with them.
