**Trichy, India:** An Air India flight from Trichy to Sharjah was forced to make an emergency landing at Trichy International Airport on Friday evening after a technical fault was detected. The flight, carrying 141 passengers, took off at 5:40 pm and was forced to return to the airport shortly after take-off.
The technical fault was identified as a problem with the aircraft’s hydraulic system. The pilot reported the issue to the air traffic control and initiated an emergency landing procedure. The aircraft circled the airport for several minutes, burning off fuel, before landing safely around 6:00 pm.
Authorities at the airport were immediately alerted and responded with emergency services, including 20 ambulances and 18 fire engines. The passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft and no injuries were reported.
The Air India officials are investigating the cause of the technical fault and are working to provide passengers with alternative travel arrangements.
