**New Delhi:** A heated political row has erupted in Delhi after the belongings of newly appointed Chief Minister Atishi Marlena were allegedly removed from her official residence by the Public Works Department (PWD).

A photograph shared by AAP leader Sanjay Singh on X (formerly Twitter) shows Ms. Marlena seated amidst cardboard boxes, examining files, allegedly within her official residence. Singh claimed that the PWD had removed her belongings, calling it “a disgrace” to a woman Chief Minister elected by the people. He further accused Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena of orchestrating the removal.

Ms. Marlena shifted to the official residence just three days ago, previously occupied by former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The official explanation for the removal of Ms. Marlena’s belongings is that the residence has not been officially allocated to her yet.

The incident has sparked controversy, with the AAP accusing the BJP government of disrespecting Ms. Marlena, particularly during the Navratri festivities. The opposition party has labelled the removal as an act of disrespect towards a woman holding the highest office in Delhi.

The Delhi government is yet to issue a statement on the matter.
