**Bengaluru, October 11:** A business development professional in Bengaluru has been fired from his company after he allegedly threatened to throw acid on a woman’s face. Sources revealed the professional had threatened a man, Ansar, over his wife’s clothing choices.
The incident came to light when the professional, Nikit Shetty, sent a private message to Ansar on October 9th, stating, “…please tell your wife to wear decent clothes, especially in Karnataka, or else I might throw acid on her face.”
Ansar immediately reported the threat to the police and shared a screenshot of the message. He subsequently took to social media, tagging the Director General of Police, the Chief Minister’s office, and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, urging immediate action against Shetty.
“This is a serious matter. This person is threatening to throw acid on my wife for her choice of clothes. Please take immediate action against this individual,” Ansar wrote. He further expressed concern about the safety of women within the company where Shetty was employed.
Following the incident, Shetty’s company, after being alerted by an internet user, promptly terminated his employment. Ansar confirmed the news, stating, “The man who threatened to attack my wife, Khyati Sri, with acid has been fired from his job. The company took immediate action and dismissed him.”
The Bengaluru police have commenced an investigation into the matter.
