**Kashipur, Uttarakhand:** The Governor of Uttarakhand, Gurmeet Singh, inaugurated the Uttarakhand Cell (Uttarakhand Cell) at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur today during a one-day visit to the district. The cell aims to act as a think tank, bridging the gap between the state and the institute, and will focus on driving development in three key areas: spiritual tourism, horticulture, and technology.

The initiative involves collaborations between IIM Kashipur and three prominent universities in the state: Kumaun University for spiritual tourism, GB Pant University for horticulture, and Uttarakhand Technical University for technology. These partnerships will pave the way for research, innovation, and development projects that benefit Uttarakhand.

Speaking at the launch event, the Governor emphasized the significance of IIM Kashipur’s contribution to the state’s progress. He likened the establishment of the institute to the selection of Kashipur as a center of learning by Guru Dronacharya in ancient times. He expressed his belief that IIM Kashipur, ranked among the top 20 institutes in the country, is well-positioned to play a crucial role in Uttarakhand’s growth trajectory.

The Governor further highlighted the historical significance of the role of gurus in the betterment of kingdoms, emphasizing the potential of this initiative to become a landmark moment in Uttarakhand’s development journey.
