Thu Oct 10 16:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Norge’s U18 Team Triumphs Over Romania in Friendly Match

**Bekkestua, Norway -** Norway’s U18 national team secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Romania in a friendly match on Wednesday. The young Norwegians showcased impressive teamwork and defensive resilience, demonstrating significant progress in their development.

Sebastian Olderheim, who has been playing with the 2006 age group in recent training sessions, put Norway ahead early in the game with a well-placed shot into the corner of the net. The team then doubled their lead and held their opponents at bay for the rest of the match.

Karsten Ekorness, making his debut for the national team, impressed with a solid performance throughout the game. “He played the whole match and was excellent today,” said national team coach Even Sel. “A great debut.”

Romania, who defeated Finland 4-0 in their previous match, are preparing for the European Championships on home soil next year. Despite this, Norway proved to be a tough opponent, showcasing impressive strength and stamina.

“The boys gave one hundred percent and showed good battling spirit and pace,” said Sel. “It’s important in games like this, and it’s positive that we mastered the game plan we had today against a physically strong Romania. It’s a solid performance.”

The defense also played a crucial role in the victory, keeping a clean sheet. “We are very happy with the defense,” said Sel. “We keep a clean sheet and it is very pleasing. At the start of the season, we won games but conceded too many goals. Now we have conceded one goal in the last three games and have improved in defense.”

The U18 team will continue their tournament with a match against Spain on Saturday, followed by a clash against Germany on Tuesday. Both games will be broadcast live.
