Wed Oct 09 03:11:47 UTC 2024: ## Khattar Triumphs: BJP Returns to Power in Haryana on Development Agenda

**Chandigarh, India:** Manohar Lal Khattar, the BJP’s “poster boy” in Haryana, has emerged victorious, leading the party to an unprecedented third term in office. Despite facing anti-incumbency sentiments and being sidelined during the campaign, Khattar’s legacy of development and welfare initiatives seem to have resonated with voters.

Khattar’s protégé and BJP’s chief ministerial candidate, Nayab Singh Saini, delivered a strong campaign focused on the achievements of the past nine and a half years. This included initiatives like the increased income ceiling for OBCs, sub-classification of the SC quota, and various pro-Dalit programs.

Despite criticisms from within and outside the party, Khattar’s “no parchi, no kharchi” (merit-based jobs) and “sab ka saath, sab ka vikas” (equitable development) agendas were well-received.

The Congress’s attempt to capitalize on anti-incumbency, focusing on Khattar’s “anti-people” IT initiatives like the family ID scheme, proved ineffective.

Tarun Bhandari, Khattar’s former publicity adviser, credits his strong poll management and administrative skills for the BJP’s success. He is widely recognized for his ability to cultivate the Jat-non Jat narrative, which led to the BJP’s first government in Haryana in 2014.

The resounding victory of the BJP in Haryana underscores the power of development and welfare initiatives in influencing voter decisions. Despite initial skepticism, Manohar Lal Khattar has proven himself to be a formidable leader, securing his place as a key figure in the BJP’s future.
