**Los Angeles, October 5 (ANI):** Donald Glover, known for his musical persona Childish Gambino, has announced the cancellation of the remaining North American and European dates of his “New World” tour due to health issues.
Glover, who has been battling an undisclosed ailment, revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that his condition worsened after a show in New Orleans. He sought medical attention in Houston and subsequently discovered he needed surgery.
“After being assessed, it became clear I would not perform that night, and after more tests, I could not perform the rest of the U.S. tour in the time asked,” Glover wrote. He emphasized the need for time to recover, stating, “My path to recovery is something I need to confront seriously.”
The cancellation encompasses all remaining North American dates as well as the UK and European leg of the tour. Ticket holders will receive refunds at the point of purchase.
While Glover specifically addressed the cancellation of North American, UK, and European shows, the status of his planned concerts in New Zealand and Australia in January and February 2025 remains unclear.
The “New World” tour was billed as the “final” project from Glover’s Childish Gambino persona. It coincided with the release of his latest album, “Bando Stone and the New World,” and a forthcoming film of the same name. The tour also included a re-release of his pandemic-era album, “3.15.2020.”
Glover has requested privacy from his fans as he focuses on his health. He expressed gratitude for their support and promised to return to the stage when he is able.
