**Wagner, SD** – Lee Bridge, a long-time resident of Wagner, SD, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Friday, October 4th, 2024. He was 83 years old.
Bridge was a well-known and respected member of the community, known for his involvement in numerous organizations and his dedication to his family and friends. He was a founding member of the Veterans Memorial in Wagner’s City Park, served as a Boy Scout leader, and was active in the city council, fire department, Tomahawk Speedway, Wagner Little League Baseball, and the Labor Day committee.
Bridge had a long and varied career, working as a mail carrier for over 40 years, and prior to that, as a carpenter, plumber, and mechanic. He was also a dedicated family man, married twice and blessed with three children, nine grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling with his wife Gail, and sharing his love of cars, racing, hunting, and fishing.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, October 10th, at the United Methodist Church in Wagner, followed by a luncheon. A private burial for family and friends will be held that afternoon at the Butterfly Bridge Cemetery near rural Dante. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, October 9th, from 5-7 pm, with a sharing of memories at 6:30 pm. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner is handling arrangements.
Bridge will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and dedication to his community. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and service.
