**New Delhi, October 8, 2024:** The 70th National Film Awards were presented today in New Delhi with several prominent Tamil films and personalities receiving recognition.
**Nithya Menen** won the prestigious Best Actress award for her performance in ‘Thiruchitrambalam’, while **Rishab Shetty** took home the Best Actor award for his role in ‘Kantara’. The film also saw **Satheesh** receiving the Best Choreography award for the song “Megham Karukadaa.”
**Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan: I’ was declared the Best Tamil film,** leading to awards for the director and the film’s composer **A.R. Rahman** for Best Background Music. **Ravi Varman** was awarded Best Cinematography for the same film.
