**Jammu & Kashmir:** In a significant political development, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has made its foray into Jammu & Kashmir, securing its first ever victory in the state’s recent Assembly elections.

The AAP candidate, Mehraaj Malik, triumphed in the Todha constituency in Jammu, defeating BJP candidate, Gaje Singh. Malik garnered 23,228 votes, while Singh received 18,690 votes.

This victory marks a new chapter for AAP, which now holds a presence in five Indian states. The party is currently in power in Delhi and Punjab, and has elected representatives in Gujarat and Goa.

The overall elections saw a coalition led by the National Conference and Congress securing a majority, winning 49 seats. Omar Abdullah is expected to be sworn in as the new Chief Minister.

AAP National Convener, Arvind Kejriwal, expressed his delight over the Todha win, congratulating Mehraaj Malik on his successful campaign. He also lauded the entire AAP team on its growing presence across India.
