Indiana Fever rookie phenom Caitlin Clark, recently named the WNBA Rookie of the Year, is enjoying a well-deserved break after a stellar first season that saw her rewrite the league’s record books. While her team, the Fever, fell to the Connecticut Sun in the first round of the playoffs, Clark’s future remains bright, and her off-season plans include cheering on her beloved Kansas City Chiefs.
Clark, who set records for points and three-pointers made by a rookie, led the league in assists and even broke the single-game assist record. Despite her accomplishments, the 22-year-old still finds time to support her other passion: the Chiefs.
The former Hawkeye star, who traveled to Arrowhead Stadium last Christmas to watch the Chiefs face the Raiders, has made her allegiance clear, even responding to a former teammate’s Instagram story about cheering for the Bengals with a simple, “Go Chiefs.”
With the Chiefs set to host the Saints on Monday Night Football, there’s a chance Clark could be back in Kansas City for the primetime showdown. While Taylor Swift, who has been spotted at recent Chiefs games, is expected to be in attendance, it remains to be seen if the two will cross paths.
“She’s a couple of tiers above my level,” Clark joked about the possibility of meeting the pop star.
While Clark’s time in the WNBA is just beginning, one thing remains clear: her love for the Chiefs is unwavering, and she’ll be cheering them on from the sidelines – or perhaps even the stands – throughout the season.
