**Gwalior:** India handed maiden T20I caps to pacer Mayank Yadav and all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy in the first T20I against Bangladesh in Gwalior on [Date]. Both players earned their national call-up after impressive stints in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

This marks the first time India has introduced two uncapped players in a T20I match since January 2016 when Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya debuted against Australia in Adelaide. The debutants, who have shined under the pressure of IPL matches, are eager to showcase their skills on the international stage.

India skipper Suryakumar Yadav, who won the toss and elected to bowl first, highlighted the importance of nurturing young talent for future challenges. He opted for a strong bowling lineup, leaving out promising players like Tilak Varma, Ravi Bishnoi, Harshith Rana, and Jitesh Sharma.

“The bowling unit looks pretty good, which is a big thing, there are people like Tilak, Ravi, Harshith, and Jitesh, and it’s good to have them around,” Suryakumar said.

Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto expressed his optimism for his team, saying, “It’s a new side. We got two new players into the T20 team and we are hoping that they can do well in this series. They have been working hard back home in the last two months.”
