Sat Oct 05 05:05:03 UTC 2024: ## ZACA Criticizes Zesco’s 3-Hour Load Shedding Schedule

**Lusaka, Zambia** – The Zambia Consumer Association (ZACA) has expressed dissatisfaction with Zesco’s recently announced three-hour load shedding schedule, calling it insufficient for citizens and businesses to function effectively.

ZACA Executive Secretary Juba Sakala stated that while the schedule provides some predictability for consumers, the limited power supply hinders productivity, particularly for the business sector.

“While having a schedule offers some hope, three hours is simply not enough for people to do anything meaningful, especially businesses,” said Sakala. “What work can you do in three hours?”

ZACA’s concerns highlight the ongoing challenges faced by Zambians due to the country’s power crisis. The organization urges Zesco to reconsider the duration of the load shedding periods, aiming for a more functional and sustainable solution for consumers.
