**Astana, October 5, 2024** – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev extended his heartfelt congratulations to teachers across Kazakhstan on their professional holiday, recognizing their crucial role in shaping the nation’s future.

In a public address, President Tokayev highlighted the significance of teachers, emphasizing their contribution to Kazakhstan’s development. “By teaching children, you lay the foundation of our state’s future,” he stated.

The government’s commitment to teachers was further evidenced by the newly established “Honored Teacher of Kazakhstan” title, awarded to 46 educators nationwide. The President also underscored the “Law on the Status of the Teacher,” which safeguards their rights and interests.

“We have significantly increased salaries for teachers and educators, freeing them from extraneous duties,” President Tokayev explained.

Furthermore, the government’s focus on improving education quality was emphasized. President Tokayev announced the “Comfortable School” national project, set to construct 217 new schools in 2025, benefitting over 460,000 students. These modern institutions will boast cutting-edge facilities and barrier-free environments for children with special needs.

The President also addressed the nation’s commitment to digitalizing education, connecting all schools to high-speed internet and expanding supplementary education programs to reach over three million people.

Kazakh schoolchildren’s outstanding achievements, including over 360 medals in international Olympiads, were attributed to the dedication and expertise of teachers. President Tokayev concluded by acknowledging their pivotal role in achieving these successes.
