Sat Oct 05 20:07:13 UTC 2024: ## Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal Exits Shark Tank India Amid Swiggy Sponsorship

**Gurugram, India –** In a surprising turn of events, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has announced his departure from the upcoming season of Shark Tank India. The decision comes amid reports that Zomato’s main competitor, Swiggy, has secured the sponsorship deal for the show.

Goyal, who joined the show as a judge in season 3, stated that his absence is due to Swiggy’s sponsorship. “I unfortunately can’t go back because Swiggy sponsored Shark Tank this time and kicked me out,” he remarked at the ET Startup Awards 2024 on Saturday.

This news follows reports that Swiggy, which is gearing up for its stock exchange debut, plans to invest approximately Rs 930 crore in brand marketing and awareness. The food delivery giant is reportedly spending Rs 25 crore to sponsor Shark Tank India’s new season.

While neither Zomato, Swiggy, nor the show’s producers have officially commented on the matter, the development is significant considering the show’s popularity and Goyal’s prominent role as a judge. His absence will likely leave a void in the judging panel, and it remains to be seen how the show will navigate this change.

Meanwhile, Swiggy continues to expand its services, recently launching a 10-minute delivery service called Bolt in major cities across India and officially introducing its Swiggy XL EV fleet for bulk order delivery in Gurugram. Zomato had already launched its own bulk delivery service earlier this year.
