ELITE High’s football team secured a resounding 60-6 victory over Esparto on Friday night, boosting their record to 4-2 for the season. The dominant performance was fueled by quarterback Emanual Daugherty II, who led the charge both through the air and on the ground.
Daugherty showcased his impressive skills, completing 12 of 16 passes for 292 yards and four touchdowns. He also added 105 rushing yards and two more touchdowns, demonstrating his versatility and prowess on the field.
Jermeer Hicks stood out as a key receiver, hauling in three catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. Savion McCray also contributed significantly, adding two touchdowns of his own. Amir Goss rounded out the receiving corps with a touchdown grab.
Daugherty has already established himself as a force in the league, amassing 703 passing yards and 11 touchdowns, while also rushing for another three in just three league games.
Head coach Emanual Daugherty attributed the team’s success to their dedication to film study and understanding their opponents, as well as their commitment to establishing a strong identity across all aspects of the game. “The team has really taken to watching film and getting familiar with opponents as well as themselves,” he said. “It has given them a higher stake and understanding in the game-planning process. Also as a coaching staff we have locked in on our identity in all three phases of the game which allowed the game to slow down for the players while allowing them to play faster.”
