**Mumbai, India -** The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will be closed on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, in observance of Gandhi Jayanti, a national holiday in India honoring the birth of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.

All trading, including equity, derivatives, and securities lending, will cease for the day. The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will also remain closed for both sessions. Trading will resume on Thursday, October 3.

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 closed slightly lower on Tuesday after a volatile trading day.
