**Hyderabad, October 2, 2024:** Telangana Minister Konda Surekha has sparked outrage after linking the divorce of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu to Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao.

Surekha alleged that KTR, who was a minister at the time, tapped the phones of actresses and blackmailed them, including Samantha. She claimed that he used these tactics to make them drug addicts and then exploit them.

Her remarks have been met with strong condemnation from various quarters, including from superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni, Chaitanya’s father. Nagarjuna denounced Surekha’s comments, calling them irrelevant and false and urging her to respect the privacy of the family.

BRS leaders, including Harish Rao and Satyavathi Rathod, have also condemned Surekha’s statements. Rathod went a step further, warning of a defamation case against the minister for her remarks and calling for an apology.

The controversy has sparked a heated debate in the state with BRS leaders accusing Surekha of resorting to defamatory tactics as her political career has suffered setbacks.

The divorce of Samantha and Chaitanya, announced in 2021, was a widely discussed event, with both actors requesting privacy from the media and fans. Surekha’s comments have reopened old wounds and brought a painful personal matter into the public sphere once again.
