Telangana’s Endowment and Environment Minister, Konda Surekha, has drawn widespread condemnation for her comments about actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu and her divorce from actor Naga Chaitanya.
At a press conference, Surekha alleged that KTR, the working president of the BRS party, was responsible for the couple’s split. She further claimed that KTR’s “drug addiction” and “rave parties” led him to manipulate and blackmail actors, causing several early marriages in the film industry.
Nagarjuna Akkineni, Chaitanya’s father, has vehemently denied these accusations. In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), he expressed his strong condemnation of Surekha’s comments, calling them “completely baseless.” He urged the minister to respect the family’s privacy and withdraw her statements.
