Tue Oct 01 18:57:04 UTC 2024: ## Ring of Fire Solar Eclipse on October 2, 2024: No Impact in India

**New Delhi:** A rare annular solar eclipse, known as the “Ring of Fire,” will occur on October 2, 2024, coinciding with the last day of the Pitru Paksha period. The eclipse will begin at 9:13 PM IST and last for 6 hours and 4 minutes, ending at 3:17 AM IST on October 3.

While this celestial event will be visible in parts of the world, it will not be visible in India. Therefore, the traditional rules associated with the eclipse’s “Sutak” period will not apply in the country.

According to astrologer Narendra Upadhyay, the eclipse will be positioned in the Virgo zodiac sign, with Saturn in Aquarius, Mercury, Ketu, and the Moon in Virgo, Jupiter in Taurus, Venus in Libra, and Rahu in Pisces.

This eclipse holds significance as it falls on the last day of Pitru Paksha, a period dedicated to honoring ancestors. The previous day, September 18, witnessed a lunar eclipse, which also wasn’t visible in India.

**The eclipse will not be visible in India, meaning there will be no direct impact on the country.** However, the celestial event’s timing during the Pitru Paksha period adds to its religious significance.
