**Hyderabad:** Despite being considered two of India’s greatest batsmen, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have earned an unwanted distinction – topping the list for most international ducks.
Kohli, with a career average of 53.18 and over 27,000 runs across formats, has been dismissed for zero a total of 33 times, while Rohit, who averages 43.15 with over 19,250 runs, has been out for a duck 37 times.
This unenviable record includes both One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 (T20) matches, as well as Test cricket. While their failures might seem insignificant compared to their mountain of runs, it highlights a common occurrence even amongst the best in the game.
Despite these “ducks”, Kohli and Rohit continue to dominate international cricket, consistently performing well in major ICC tournaments. In the 2023 World Cup, Kohli scored a whopping 765 runs while Rohit contributed 597 runs, making them the top scorers in the tournament.
Both players are revered for their contributions to the Indian team and are expected to remain key players for the foreseeable future.
