Sun Sep 29 19:13:55 UTC 2024: ## Duncan Aviation to Build $25 Million Paint Facility in Lincoln

**LINCOLN, NE -** Duncan Aviation, a leading provider of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul services, announced plans to construct a new, $25 million paint facility at its Lincoln Airport location. Construction is set to begin in December and is expected to be completed in January 2026.

The new building will replace two existing paint bays built in 1990, which are no longer able to accommodate the larger aircraft Duncan Aviation is now servicing. The new facility will feature a 32,500-square-foot dual-bay paint hangar, 9,000-square-foot storage and support space, and an expanded ramp.

According to Mike Minchow, Duncan Aviation’s chief operating officer, the focus is on increasing flexibility rather than capacity. The facility will allow the company to work on a wider range of aircraft, including the Gulfstream G650, Falcon 10X, and Bombardier Global 7500. It will also provide space for detailed paint touch-up work and painting component parts.

The new paint hangar will incorporate state-of-the-art technology, including cross-draft bays for a controlled spray environment, air filtration systems for energy efficiency, and climate controls for employee comfort. The facility will also boast dimmable lights and air showers to minimize contaminants.

“This new paint bay represents a significant investment in our Lincoln facility and our commitment to providing the highest level of service to our customers,” said Minchow. “We are excited to bring this new technology and efficiency to our operations.”

Duncan Aviation’s investment in the new paint facility follows recent expansions to its maintenance hangar and engine shop. The company plans to repurpose the space occupied by the two older paint bays once the new facility is operational.
