**Mumbai, India** – Renowned actor and former Rajya Sabha MP, Mithun Chakraborty, will be honored with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2024. The award, the highest recognition in Indian cinema, will be presented to Chakraborty at the 70th National Film Awards ceremony on October 8th, 2024.
Chakraborty, known for his iconic role as Jimmy in the blockbuster film “Disco Dancer” (1982), expressed his humility and gratitude upon receiving the news. “I became speechless after getting such a prestigious award… I don’t know how to express this.
