**Mumbai:** Veteran Bollywood actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was hospitalized on Tuesday after he accidentally shot himself in the leg with his own revolver. The incident took place at his Mumbai residence in the early hours of the morning.

According to Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, the actor was preparing to travel to Kolkata when the incident occurred. Govinda was reportedly loading his licensed revolver into its case when it accidentally misfired, with the bullet hitting his leg.

Govinda was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors successfully removed the bullet. He is currently recovering in the hospital and is said to be in stable condition.

Govinda himself took to social media to express his gratitude for the prayers and support he received, stating that the bullet had been removed thanks to the blessings of his parents and well-wishers.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also called Govinda to check on his health and instructed the hospital to provide him with the best possible medical care.

Govinda, born in 1963, has starred in over 165 films. He joined the Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde just a month before the Lok Sabha elections, marking his re-entry into politics after almost two decades. He previously served as an MP from the North Mumbai constituency in 2004 under the Congress party banner.
