**Hyderabad, September 30, 2024:** Dr. Nilay Reddy, a 29-year-old Cornea and Anterior Segment Fellow at the prestigious LV Prasad Eye Hospital, died in a tragic road accident early Monday morning on the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road (ORR).
According to police reports, Dr. Reddy’s car was traveling at a high speed of approximately 140 kilometers per hour, exceeding the speed limit of 120 kmph. The car veered off the road near Exit 17, crashing into a road divider before coming to rest in nearby bushes.
The accident occurred around 5:00 AM as Dr. Reddy was en route to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) from his residence in Jubilee Hills. Police confirmed that the doctor was not under the influence of alcohol.
Dr. Reddy’s body was recovered from the accident site and taken to Osmania General Hospital for autopsy. His vehicle was towed away. The Rajendranagar Police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident.
This incident comes just hours after a separate accident in Karnataka’s Udupi claimed the lives of four members of a family when their two-wheeler collided with a mini truck.
The tragic loss of Dr. Nilay Reddy is a stark reminder of the dangers of speeding and the importance of road safety.
