**Chennai:** Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has announced a cabinet reshuffle, promoting his son, Udhayanidhi Stalin, to the position of Deputy Chief Minister. The move, which has been met with mixed reactions, has been justified by the Chief Minister as a recognition of Udhayanidhi’s contributions to the state’s development and his commitment to the party’s ideals.

In a statement released today, Stalin emphasized that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has consistently delivered on its promises to the people of Tamil Nadu, bringing about significant progress in various sectors. He highlighted the state’s robust economy and its leadership in numerous development indices.

“Udhayanidhi has proven his dedication to serving the people through his work in the Youth Welfare and Sports Department,” Stalin said, emphasizing the remarkable progress achieved in the sports sector under Udhayanidhi’s leadership. He also praised Udhayanidhi’s efforts in attracting young people to the DMK and instilling in them the principles of Dravidian ideology.

The Chief Minister also announced the reinstatement of V. Senthil Balaji as a cabinet minister, stating that Balaji’s “sacrifice” in facing 15 months of imprisonment to avoid tarnishing the party’s image was commendable.

The reshuffle also includes the appointment of new ministers, including Salem Rajendran, Avadi Nasaar, and K.C.V. Selvi, all of whom have a long history of service to the party.

Stalin reiterated his commitment to “Dravidian Model” governance and its role in shaping the future of Tamil Nadu. He assured the people that the new cabinet will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the welfare and prosperity of all citizens.
