**Lucknow, India -** Rising Indian cricketer Musheer Khan, brother of Test batsman Sarfaraz Khan, has suffered a neck fracture in a road accident on the Purvanchal Expressway near Lucknow. The 19-year-old all-rounder, who recently scored a century on his First-Class debut, is currently hospitalized at Medanta Hospital in Lucknow and is reported to be in stable condition.
The accident occurred on Friday when Musheer was traveling from his hometown of Azamgarh to Lucknow for the upcoming Irani Cup. His car hit a divider and overturned, resulting in the neck injury. His father and coach, Naushad Khan, who was accompanying him, sustained minor scratches.
Musheer is expected to be out of action for at least three months due to the injury, ruling him out of Mumbai’s matches at the start of the Ranji Trophy season. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has confirmed his condition is stable and that he will be transferred to Mumbai for further evaluation and treatment once medically cleared.
The BCCI and MCA medical teams are closely monitoring his progress and providing support. Musheer’s injury comes as a setback for the young cricketer, who was considered a potential member of India’s A team for the upcoming tour of Australia. He has already amassed three centuries and a half-century in nine First-Class matches, including a double century in last season’s Ranji Trophy quarter-final.
Musheer’s recovery will be closely watched by cricket fans as he continues to build a promising career.
