Sat Sep 28 05:05:23 UTC 2024: ## Devara Part 1 Opens Strong with ₹70 Crore Box Office Debut

**Hyderabad, India:** Jr NTR’s highly anticipated action drama, “Devara Part 1,” opened to a strong response at the Indian box office on Friday, collecting over ₹70 crore. According to Sacnilk.com, the film earned ₹77 crore overall, with Telugu audiences contributing the majority of the earnings. The film’s strong performance is a testament to Jr NTR’s star power and the director Koratala Siva’s track record.

While the film’s performance on day one is impressive, reviews have been mixed, with critics finding the film’s narrative lacking depth and the character development uneven. The Hindustan Times review noted that Jr NTR’s performance was commendable but that Koratala’s writing fell short in exploring the titular character “Devara.” Saif Ali Khan was praised for his portrayal of the antagonist, Bhaira, but the character lacked the gravitas needed to be a truly formidable foe. Janhvi Kapoor’s debut in Telugu cinema was deemed lackluster.

“Devara Part 1” features Jr NTR in a dual role, playing both Devara and Varadha. The film revolves around a clash of wills in a coastal setting, where power dynamics are in constant flux. The film released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.

Despite the mixed reviews, the film’s opening weekend collections are a significant achievement, and the film’s future performance remains to be seen. The film is produced by Kosaraju Hari Krishna and Sudhakar Mikkilineni under the banners of NTR Arts and Yuvasudha Arts.
