**Hyderabad, India** – Superstar Jr NTR’s much-anticipated action drama, “Devara: Part 1,” has made a strong box office debut, earning an impressive ₹77 crore net in India on its opening day, according to reports.
The film, directed by Koratala Siva, also garnered a worldwide gross of ₹140 crore, showcasing its appeal both domestically and internationally.
The Telugu version of the film contributed the most to the earnings, grossing ₹68.6 crore, while other language versions also performed well, with the Hindi version garnering ₹7 crore, Kannada ₹0.3 crore, Tamil ₹0.8 crore, and Malayalam ₹0.3 crore.
“Devara: Part 1” marks Jr NTR’s return to the big screen after his global success with “RRR” which earned him Golden Globe and Oscar nominations. In the film, he plays a dual role as Devara and Varadha, against a backdrop of power struggles in a coastal setting.
The two-minute and 39-second trailer, released prior to the film’s release, gave viewers a glimpse of the compelling narrative filled with conflict and strategy. Saif Ali Khan plays Bhaira, a wrestling champion whose world is shaken by Jr NTR’s character, while Janhvi Kapoor adds emotional depth as Thangam, a village girl romantically involved with Jr NTR’s son.
The film reunites Jr NTR with director Koratala Siva, who previously directed the hit film “Janatha Garage.” The production team includes Kosaraju Hari Krishna and Sudhakar Mikkilineni under NTR Arts and Yuvasudha Arts, with Nandamuri Kalyan Ram as the presenter.
With its strong opening numbers and an intriguing storyline, “Devara: Part 1” is set to become one of the biggest hits of the year.
