Sat Sep 28 03:04:34 UTC 2024: ## AAP Accuses BJP of “Stealing” State Governments Through Misuse of Investigative Agencies

**New Delhi:** In a heated debate in the Delhi Assembly, AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal accused the BJP of manipulating central investigating agencies, the ED and CBI, to topple 10 elected state governments. He claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi attempted to destabilize 13 state governments 15 times between 2016 and 2024, succeeding in 10 instances. Kejriwal asserted that these governments were not “toppled” but “stolen” by the BJP.

Kejriwal cited examples of politicians who faced corruption charges but saw those charges dropped after joining the BJP or supporting the party’s government. He specifically named Ajit Pawar, Pratap Sarnaik, and Hasan Muhrif from Maharashtra.

He also criticized the BJP’s relationship with the RSS, alleging that while RSS members dedicate their lives to the organization, they are often sidelined and only serve as “mats” for BJP and other political leaders. Kejriwal questioned the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on this practice, asking if he agrees with the inclusion of individuals previously labeled as corrupt by BJP leaders.

Further, Kejriwal listed several prominent figures who he claimed were “collected” by the BJP, including Ajit Pawar, Hemant Biswa Sarma, Praful Patel, and Shubhendu Adhikari.

Manish Sisodia, Delhi’s former deputy chief minister who spent 19 months in jail, spoke about his experience, stating that he would have perished in jail if BJP had been in control. He accused the BJP of misusing agencies to file numerous cases against Kejriwal and himself, claiming these cases would be rejected.

Atishi, Delhi’s chief minister, praised Kejriwal’s integrity and lauded his achievements in providing free electricity, water, education, and healthcare to Delhi residents. She contrasted this with the BJP’s governance in 22 states, where despite holding power, they failed to provide similar benefits to their citizens. Atishi accused the BJP of using the ED and CBI to malign Kejriwal due to his success and their inability to replicate it.

The accusations sparked a heated debate, with the BJP yet to respond to the allegations. This incident is likely to further intensify the political rivalry between the AAP and the BJP, particularly ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
