**New Delhi:** Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal on Friday accused the BJP of “desperately manipulating” voter lists and “eroding democracy” in a bid to cover their “imminent defeat” in the upcoming Delhi elections. Speaking during the Delhi Assembly’s special session, Kejriwal termed the BJP’s actions a betrayal of the legacy of freedom fighters Bhagat Singh and Chandrashekhar Azad.
Kejriwal also slammed the BJP-led Union government for allegedly misusing central probe agencies like the ED and CBI, claiming they were being used to “induct the most corrupt leaders of this country” into the BJP by “scaring them,” “luring them with money,” or “breaking them” from other parties. He alleged that Prime Minister Modi has “carefully collected” 25 such leaders, whom he considers “gems,” and “cleaned all the filth (corruption charges) and washed (put on backburner) all their cases.”
Calling the BJP’s tactics “petty” and “dirty,” Kejriwal said he had never witnessed such “politics” in his 10-12 years of political experience.
Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Atishi echoed Kejriwal’s sentiments, stating that the people of Delhi will counter “every conspiracy devised by the BJP” against Kejriwal. She expressed confidence that in the upcoming elections, the people will “give Arvind Kejriwal all 70 seats, making him the chief minister once again.”
