Mon Sep 23 14:34:43 UTC 2024: ## Utah’s New NHL Franchise Partners with SeatGeek for Innovative Ticketing Experience

**Salt Lake City, UT** – The Utah Hockey Club, the NHL’s newest franchise, is ready to make its home debut at the Delta Center on Monday against the Los Angeles Kings. In preparation for the inaugural season, the club has partnered with SeatGeek, a leading ticketing technology company, to provide a seamless and personalized experience for fans.

The partnership, announced earlier this week, marks SeatGeek’s second venture into the NHL, following their collaboration with the Florida Panthers. The company, known for its user-friendly platform and focus on fan experience, will be responsible for ticket sales, distribution, and fan engagement for the Utah Hockey Club.

“We were really interested in leaning into a technology company,” said Chris Barney, president of revenue and commercial strategy for Smith Entertainment Group, owner of the Utah Hockey Club and the Utah Jazz. “SeatGeek aligns perfectly with the values and what people in Utah are interested in. It’s a very tech-savvy community.”

The Utah Hockey Club’s rapid arrival, just months after the Smith Entertainment Group requested NHL expansion, has created a frenzy among local fans. The club saw a record-breaking 34,000 ticket deposits within the first 30 days of launching their sales platform.

The Delta Center, while currently undergoing a three-year renovation plan, will host the Utah Hockey Club for the inaugural season. The venue’s capacity will be limited to 11,131 seats with unobstructed views for the first season, with the option to expand for high-demand games by offering “single goal view seats.”

SeatGeek’s technology will provide fans with transparent views of available seats, allowing them to make informed decisions before purchasing tickets. Beyond ticketing, the company will also provide a personalized experience with mobile-first capabilities and access to additional services like ride-sharing, food and beverage ordering, and merchandise purchases.

The Utah Hockey Club’s regular-season home opener takes place on Tuesday, Oct. 8, against the Chicago Blackhawks, featuring phenom Connor Bedard. The partnership with SeatGeek promises an innovative and exciting experience for fans as the team prepares to embark on their first NHL season.
