Mon Sep 23 10:12:05 UTC 2024: ## Lando Norris Wins Singapore GP, Cuts Verstappen’s Lead but Trails in Drivers’ Championship

**Singapore** – Lando Norris of McLaren secured a thrilling victory at the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday, extending his team’s lead in the Constructors’ Championship. However, the British driver still trails Max Verstappen in the Drivers’ Championship despite the win.

Norris, starting from pole position, maintained a dominant lead throughout the race, securing his third win of the season. Despite a few close calls with barriers, Norris managed to maintain his composure and delivered a masterful performance.

Verstappen, finishing second, held off a strong challenge from Lewis Hamilton at the start. Oscar Piastri, who won last week in Azerbaijan, climbed to third after overtaking both Hamilton and George Russell.

With the win, McLaren now boasts a substantial 41-point lead over Red Bull Racing in the Constructors’ Championship. The team’s focus remains firmly on securing this title, which carries significant financial rewards.

Despite the win, Norris remains 52 points behind Verstappen in the Drivers’ Championship. While the gap is narrowing, Verstappen’s early season dominance gives him a comfortable advantage. Even if Norris wins every remaining race, Verstappen could still retain the title by finishing second in each race.

With six races remaining, the championship fight intensifies. The next race, the United States Grand Prix, is scheduled for next month, and three of the remaining races feature sprint races, offering additional points opportunities.

The season finale promises to be a thrilling conclusion as Norris and Verstappen fight for supremacy in both championships.
