**Budapest, Hungary:** The Indian chess contingent has etched its name in history, winning gold in both the open and women’s categories at the 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad held in Budapest. This is the first time India has achieved this feat, putting them alongside only China and the former Soviet Union in achieving a double gold win at a single Olympiad.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the team’s achievement, calling it a “new chapter” in Indian sports.
