**Budapest, Hungary** – The CEO of BAC Consulting, Cristiana Barsony-Arcidiacono, has disappeared from public view after her company was linked to deadly pager explosions used by Hezbollah members in Lebanon this week. Barsony-Arcidiacono, a multilingual woman with a PhD in particle physics and a colorful past, has not responded to calls or emails from journalists, and her apartment in Budapest is now shuttered.

Hungarian intelligence services have conducted several interviews with Barsony-Arcidiacono since the explosions, but her whereabouts remain unknown. The Hungarian government claims BAC Consulting is merely a “trading-intermediary company” with no manufacturing facilities in the country and insists the pagers were never in Hungary.

However, Taiwanese pager manufacturer Gold Apollo stated that they had only licensed their brand to BAC Consulting, and were not involved in the production of the devices. Barsony-Arcidiacono told NBC News that she did not make the pagers and was simply an intermediary.

Despite her impressive resume and skills in languages, business, and science, acquaintances paint a picture of a woman who flitted between short-term jobs and never quite settled down. Former colleagues describe her as enthusiastic and willing to try new things, but lacking in business acumen.

One former employer, Kilian Kleinschmidt, described hiring Barsony-Arcidiacono for a six-month program in Libya as a “big mistake,” citing disagreements over her management style and ultimately letting her go early.

Barsony-Arcidiacono’s past includes a PhD in physics from University College London, work in NGO projects around the world, and a stint as an intern at the International Atomic Energy Agency. However, her career path seems to have taken many detours, with claims of further degrees and positions that have not been verified.

Her disappearance adds another layer of mystery to the explosive situation in Lebanon and raises questions about the true nature of BAC Consulting’s operations.
