**Madrid, Spain** – Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed criticism of his team’s “unattractive” style of play, emphasizing that winning is the primary objective. Despite facing a demanding schedule and several key players nursing injuries, Ancelotti’s team has remained undefeated, winning five of their seven games this season.

“Ideally, you want both, winning while playing an attractive style of football, but our main objective is pleasing our fans who are very demanding,” Ancelotti said, ahead of Sunday’s La Liga clash against Espanyol. “We are not at our best, but that is normal in the beginning of a demanding calendar. We will improve as the season starts to get into the important things to play for.”

Ancelotti specifically addressed criticism regarding the lack of finesse in their game, stating that their “rock and roll” style is a result of the team’s strengths. “We have players with a lot of strength and speed, especially on the ball, and we have to take advantage of that,” he explained.

The manager further highlighted the recovery progress of several injured players, including Jude Bellingham and Aurelien Tchouameni, who have returned to action. However, players such as David Alaba, Eduardo Camavinga, Dani Ceballos, and Brahim Diaz are still expected to miss several weeks.

Despite the recent dip in form from forwards Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe, Ancelotti remains optimistic about their potential to reignite the team’s offensive spark. “They are still a work in progress but playing better each week,” he noted. “They will soon give Real the spark they need to be effective with a direct approach.”

Real Madrid currently sit third in the La Liga table, trailing leaders Barcelona by four points.
