**Zhengzhou, China – September 20, 2024** – A new study published in PLOS ONE has revealed that information sharing strategies are crucial for the sustainable development of biomass power generation supply chains. The research, conducted by a team of scientists from Henan Agricultural University and Henan University of Engineering, investigated the impact of information asymmetry between biomass power plants and their upstream suppliers, particularly farmers.

The study found that when farmers choose to directly supply biomass to the power plant, bypassing traditional middlemen, sharing demand information can significantly increase the profits of the entire supply chain.
