**LOS ANGELES, CA** – Body Count, the legendary metal band, has released a hard-hitting rendition of Pink Floyd’s iconic “Comfortably Numb”, featuring a special guest appearance by the song’s original guitarist, David Gilmour. The track, released today, is a unique blend of classic rock and modern metal, with Gilmour’s signature guitar work adding a haunting touch to Body Count’s signature intensity.

The song explores themes of detachment and introspection, with Ice-T, Body Count’s frontman, providing powerful new lyrics that reflect on the anxieties of the modern world. “For me, ‘Comfortably Numb’ is an introspective song,” explains Ice-T. “It’s me acknowledging that I’m older now, and I’m telling the younger generation, you’ve got two choices: you can keep the fire burning or you can give up.”

Gilmour, impressed by the new take on his classic, commented: “Body Count’s version of ‘Comfortably Numb’ is quite radical, but the words really struck me. It astonishes me that a tune I wrote almost 50 years ago is back with this great new approach. They’ve made it relevant again.”

The release of the “Comfortably Numb” cover coincides with the announcement of Body Count’s upcoming album, “Merciless,” which is due out on November 22nd via Century Media.
