**LONDON** – Prince Andrew is reportedly planning a viewing party for the upcoming Amazon Prime series “A Very Royal Scandal,” which explores the Duke of York’s downfall in the wake of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

The three-part series, premiering today, features Michael Sheen as Prince Andrew and delves into the infamous 2019 BBC Newsnight interview, which saw Andrew facing questions about his relationship with Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who alleged he sexually assaulted her.

Despite the subject matter, a source close to the Duke has revealed that he is “very excited” about the release and plans to watch the series with friends and family. The source also noted that Princess Beatrice, Andrew’s eldest daughter, is not as concerned about the series as she was about the earlier Netflix series “Scoop,” which also dramatized the Newsnight interview.

The Amazon series is based on Emily Maitlis’ perspective in securing the interview with Prince Andrew. A former staffer involved in the production has hinted that the new series presents a more critical portrayal of the Duke compared to “Scoop.”
